The Concord Visitor Center and Town Recreation Department are hosting a free outdoor jazz festival on June 8th in the parking lot behind the Concord Visitor Center, at 58 Main Street.

We are featuring a mix of 20-piece Big Bands, Latin Jazz, Jump Blues and Smaller Ensembles including participants from the Acton High School and Concord Middle School Jazz Bands.
Jazz festival attendees will be able to enjoy a variety of food options. Local restaurants such as Reasons to be Cheerful, Debra’s Natural Gourmet, Trail’s End Café and Woods Hill Table will all be at the event as well as restaurants throughout Concord.
Local artisans will be setting up as well for an afternoon of shopping and strolling. Each vendor donates a portion of their proceeds to our event, so come and support our wonderful vendors and stores in downtown Concord.
Visitors are encouraged to bring lawn chairs and come prepared to enjoy a wonderful afternoon of music and food. The town will feature several large tents to shade areas surrounding stages where the musicians will perform.
The rain date for this event is Sunday, June 9th.

Where: 51 Walden Performing Arts Center – 51 Walden Street, Concord, MA 01742

Master Class Overview: In addition to being one of today’s greatest performing trumpet stars, Wayne Bergeron delivers exciting master classes to audiences worldwide. As part of the class, he’ll cover how he came to play trumpet and excel in the rarified air above the staff, but also what it takes to become a great all-around trumpet player. He also speaks about what’s required to succeed in a big band - particularly at the lead trumpet position. During the session Wayne will complement a wealth of technical trumpet tips with anecdotes from his long career that are insightful, funny, and inspiring for jazz musicians young and old. Although the master class is targeted at big band trumpet players, all jazz and big band musicians - as well as passionate fans of the genre – are encouraged to attend. The interactive, informal lecture portion of the master class will run about an hour, with time afterward for questions as schedules permit.
